United Airlines is in the process of upgrading its international First and Business Class cabins, finally beginning to catch up to its rivals. UA chose an unusual arrangement for its Business Class upgrade, facing some seats forward and others rearward. First Class retains the inward-facing format in its original United First Suite.

UAL chose an unusual arrangement for its Business Class upgrade, facing some seats forward and others rearward. Flying backwards seems very strange because the movement of the aircraft, particularly takeoff, ascent, leveling off and descent, are counter-intuitive. It takes some getting used to.
